Transfer samples from Vdrum to PC?

Hey,

I just got ahold of an electric kit with a Roland V-Drum TD-8 module.
I've got it sending midi to my PC and was wondering if there's anyway I could transfer the sounds on in the module to my PC?

Well, it's just data, so in theory it's possible. Then if V-drum can do that, is another story. The old ddrum 3 and 4 had their soundbanks in midi format.

You can't actually send the samples thru midi. Best you can do is run the direct outs to your interface, record the samples, then cut and paste. Check the V-drum forums for more info.

I am. Roland has some great samples on their modules.

Since all the sounds are synthesised I've never found much luck with sampling the TD series kits. It's still worth having them though, can never have enough drum samples.

I'd really like a kick sample similar to the one used on the 1st commercial As I Lay Dying. I had a band request it.

ok, i just looked at the manual, there's fucking 1024 drum "instruments" in this shit. I'm assuming that doesn't include seperate sounds for rimshots etc and variations on samples.
I'll look into this more and see if i can do it. i dunno!
