Triaxis preamp. Your opinion

I'm thinking about getting a second hand triaxis as I've listened to many good reviews but I'm confused about versions like the v1.8 and v2.0, about phat or non phat, about rectifierboard or not...

Please, enlighten me!

I had one 8 years ago, the one with the rectifier-mod(not phat mod). That particular mode was fucking deathmetal bliss. Haven't heard a tighter sounding tone.

and YES I love the Kelevala!!! They make you read it at school there dont they? Ever since I moved to the US I've been reading books on black people with incredibly crappy English grammar skills... The Kelevala looks more like English then the crap here !!!

Yeah, they make them read it in some of the schools here, though I didn't have to read it back when I was in elemantary school. It's cool that you like it though, how did you find Kalevala in the first place?

"My Guitarplayer" owns one. Don't know the year. I think he owns it for 3 or 4 Years now. The clean-channel is godlike, but everything he tried with more gain sucks as hell. Don't know, perhaps its broken, but over 2k is alot for a nice sounding clean-channel

Well call me nerdy but I found it through Tolkein, I absolutely love The Lord of The Rings because it was just so epic. So I did a lot of research and found out that he stole most of it from The Kelevala so I brought it and it got me really into Nordic Mythology. I also figured out where Ensiferum gets their lyrics from!

I own one. Apparently, mine is one of the "blessed" ones that makes a lot of noise when gain is turned up. I've sent it back to the factory & changed tubes and everything...still makes a bit of noise. Mesa said there was some cleaning they did to a tube socket or something, but the problem was not fixed. I've never had an amp that hums so much....BUT...it also sounds better than anything else I've ever owned, tone-wise. If only I could get a handle on that hum....

Theres a vid on YouTube of a guy who posted his noise problem in vid format, I've commented on it as well.....same thing. People always say "Send it back to Mesa, they have good customer service!". I can't afford to send it in every two weeks because they didn't fix it the last time. Kinda sucks...

Did you tried a gate pedal?
I have a Peavey Rockmaster (that I want to sell) and had the same symptoms and also a fucking loud feedback noise. I changed all tubes but nothing changed. Finally I tried a gate pedal and it was silent as fuck.
