Tried out some new toys and compared old&new bass strings

The new toy isn't they the most exciting thing in the world, but for 300€ I think it sounds pretty nice:

LTD EC1000 (EMG81) -> Ibanez TS9 -> Boss NS2 -> Bugera 333 (Crunch) -> HB 2x12 (V30) -> Shure SM57

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1338211/bugera_test.mp3 (sorry for the uber sloppy playing)

edit: and to Ermz who asked about the Bugera:

on 333: crunch channel, gain (2 o clock), bass 12, mids 12.30, treble 11, volume 9, master volume 2.5
on ts9: drive 8.30, tone 5, level 1

dual tracked, no post processing on the guitars, only limiter on the master bus.

I accidentally snapped a string on my guitar before I started recording that, so I changed the strings to my guitar (I actually changed the strings to that new guitar for the first time, damn those locking machine heads are convinient! :kickass:) and also decided to change the 3 year old(!) strings off from my bass. Damn changing those strings sucked :cry: I recorded comparison clips with before and after bass string change, and the change was massive in both feel and the sound of the bass. its like extra two octaves just appeared out of nowhere.

edit: And here in easier to download and compare form:

Excellent example of the difference new bass strings can make. Those old strings sound gross, as if they were dipped in ear wax before you hit record.
