trigger question

Hey guys, I searched for this and couldn't find a direct answer. I am setting up a studio on a budget, and I currently own a MOTU 828mkii. It has 8 balanced/unbalanced inputs on the back and 2 pre's. Can I plug the triggers directly into the TRS inputs without pre's? No one I've asked can give me a concrete answer. Pretty low on funding if the moment, so at this point in time I don't really want to buy more pre's if I don't have to. I will be using ddrum standard triggers (not the redshots).

Depending on the unit though and it's impedance output, you may have to interface with a matching transformer or DI.

If your claim is true, I'd expect to see a lot more broken units around because that's the first I've heard of it.

What is the typical signal flow of triggering if i want to trigger a drum and then replace the drum with drumagog on my computer.
Is it OK like that:
Ddrum acoustic pro trigger - xlr cable into preamp - preamp into computer (a/d etc...) - record ?!

Yeah man, it works just like a microphone. Search "drum replacement" on the forum. There is also a pretty good tutorial on faderwear.com.
