Trouble with singing timing and processing

Here is a clip of a local band I'm recording and i really need help with this one. The band and the "guest" singer decided on this timing and there was no talking out of it. I don't think it fits so i wanted to see what you all thought and maybe some solutions to the problem. Also I'm having a difficult time getting these vocals to actually sit in the mix. I'm running one take into a De-esser and comp. Another into the same chain with a doubler at the end. Both bussed to a reverb. I cant re-track because the guest is back on tour and was only in town for one night. It's mostly the first three words or so "The sun, hasn't made.."

I can't hear any timing problems, but they are both terrible singers (specially the guest)

it sounds in time, try using autotune / melodyne on it....
