timing question

So this is the first project where I'm really focusing on timing by setting up the click track properly. Currently I have the demo songs loaded in pro tools (just the drums and a single guitar) and I'm going through with beat detective to determine the tempo. I'm looking to do the actual tracking in cubase 5, once I upgrade from sx3 which will be soon. I was wondering what I should do, considering I don't think there's a way to export the tempo map from pro tools into cubase or should I just determine the average tempo for each section and plug those numbers into cubase's tempo map?

if it´s too complicated to just manually put it in Cubase, you could make an empty midi file just containing the tempo info and export it from Pro Tools into Cubase?

so i would just create a midi track and export that by itself?

well I don´t know how it works in Protools or Cubase, but it should work. Even if the midi file has no notes, it should have the tempo information in it, I always use midi for my tempo maps
