TRS cable question.

That's messed up, both ends should be shielded, or neither... are the ends metal? as in the part you hold when you plug it in... If it is, I could POSSIBLY see it as being a shield going to the casing of the connector to ground it to the chassis of whatever gear you're plugging it into... but that's a bit odd... I'd put that end in the balanced line out anyways though.. lol

Okay so the back of the box says:

"shield is connected to ground on one end of the cable to avoid ground loops and noise interference"

On the front of the box it says: "double insulated, double shielded"

Also another note: with the ground lift on (in other words ground is lifted) on my reamp there is ground hum.

Fucked up aint it.

ryanojohn: no they are pvc ends it's a planet waves cable.

if i remember correctly: ground loops occur when you're connceting 2 balanced connections, so you lift the ground on one end - "the one end only rule".

you could always just solder the ground onto the connector like a normal cable. The ground lift switch on your reamp does the same thing as disconnecting the ground on one end.
