ok - this was a quickie recorded onto logic studio 8 as far as i can tell. it was done in a small cattle shed in ireland - as you can hear everything sounds terrible. there is no di's for the guitars and there is alot of spill on the drum mics.

it was not me who recorded it but a so called " engineer " who done it. i guess i cant complain for a recording that cost me 100 bucks with 2 engineers and a basic mix.

i would love to hear what can be done to this recording - thats why i made sure to get the session files from the chap - bare in mind its a completely rough recording so nothing is going to sound amazing musically because we got stuck for time due to the engineer being late.

i would love whoever decides to give this a go if they could trigger the drums to a huge metal sound - (close to machine head if you could but i doubt you'll be able to with this mess)

give it a go if you have time - looking forward to hearing different sounds.

as far as i remember it was NOT done to a click but it clocks in around 120-140 bpm - it was recorded about 4 months ago so i cant really remember if we used a click

It worked here :)

But holy crap! Someone forget to put some labels over the audio tracks, i had to sort everything out (except for drums) wether it was Lead Vox or Back-ups.
Not to mention that the rhytmn section (bass, drums) wont fit if everything starts from 1.1.

Nevertheless i shall try to make something out of here :)

i dont know if its relevent but i archieved it on a brand new macbook running os 10.5 or close to that - i done it with apples built in zipping utility i think (sorry - im a newby to macs - only had this thing 2 weeks - i was a windows user for about 8 years)

thanks alot for giving it a go - i hope you guys can do something with it. i think there are a few labels like on the kit and bass d.i. only - i think the yellow tracks are guitars (not sure which guitar players) and the red might be the vocals.

ok, on first listen the vocals are quite usable.
bass...well, it'll do I guess, drums are okay too but would need a LOT of editing but what mostly is fucked up is the guitars,
I see there are three tracks, one guitar part doubled or with two different mics? the second one sounds more distant...
now the third track, the "other" player is somewhat weird, I'm not sure if it just muds things up, let's see if I can do anything with it ;)

but as you said...quite messy...

eek! yea 2nd guitar is done a little strange - it was a quick recording because we were running out of time and some how he made a fuck up. just do what you can mate

thanks alot - got another 2 tracks that need doing but there for another day, i dont like to "mooch" too much. pity my band is going downhill - members are leaving. we had to cancel our ep launch at christmas and our recording session in northern ireland. pity but we will keep trying to work at our music and stay together. hopefully

good god thats sounding much better but what happened at the end of the song? the 2nd guitar went out of sync and finished about half a second too late.

is there any way you could , i dont know - beef it up a little more? like a slight bit more bass or something. it sounds a tiny bit dead or something.

what exactly did you do to the guitars sound? eq, comp, chorus? - it has a much more fluid tone )sad to say they were recorded on a marshall dfx (again - crappy studio)

not bad for a girl drummer only playing 3 years eh? and she's tiny - you would think she couldnt hit a fly - also at the end of the recording the vocal delay could you cut "dust"

it sounds like - ashes to ashes, dust to dust dust.

sounds animal though dude

I'll probably have a go with this within the next few days.

Just downloading abyss' mix.
Uno momento...

Damn, this sounds pretty good.
Good song too, man.

I completely ditched the second guitar, sorry it was too much out of sync, I took the second take that was there and made it fatter, any better now?

God, you bitch. I was just about to go to bed.
I have college in the morning.

Downloading.
Niiiice.
Snare's a bit dark and the kick seems a bit too loud during the bit the "Burning, Killing, Timing, Crying" etc with the double bass. Maybe automate a subtle volume drop just for that section.
Bit of 2k for grind on those guitars would be sweet, but goddamn, you have them sounding good for what it is.

Sleep time now, gonna have a crack at this tomorrow probably

ah no bother about the 2nd guitar, the vocal at the end is sounding much better but the start vocal is still out of time. vocals start in the mixdown youn sent me. count 2 bars and then drop the vocals on the 3rd bar. or on the 11th second of the mixdown
