TS-9 vs. Blues Driver

so someone told me that I should try using the BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver pedal in place of my TS-9.

I've never tried this in a recording, so I'm not sure of the sonic difference in metal.

has anyone here used it in any of their metal productions?
if so, does anyone have any relative setting guidelines for metal?

I actually really like the blues driver. Used it a few times but never for metal. Its effect is a bit more subtle than the TS-9, mainly in the amount of gain it adds and in the amount of low it sucks. I'm pretty sure it's worth trying.

I love my tubescreamer in front of some bottom heavy amps like the rest of you but in front of my Marshall, I've been fine without the highpass, especially if the music isn't so much fast muted riffs. Have fun experimenting!
