TSE x30 revisited? sylvania or sovtek?

i like sovtek too.. but i was playing sylvania just now on a low gain setting w/single coils and man got some aggressive srv tone.

I'm working on a GUI for version 2.0 of X30 (I got bored).. I might change it though, this is a test only :p

Onqel, looks nice but I swear to god the first time I looked at that pic it had a cab on/off switch... Am I losing it here? lol

Either way, looking forward to your update!

You're not loosing it, I removed the extra icons and updated the picture, I thought I were quick enough for no one to notice ;)

Looks great Onqel, good to see you still keeping at it. Will this sim be devoid of power amp coloration just like the x50? It's a great thing IMO. My IRs work best with preamps that have no power amp coloration built in (because IRs already have power amp coloration baked in so it makes no sense to add it twice), and to be honest those are hard to come by these days. I love that the x50 has bypassable power amp for this reason. I can load up my IRs and just use all of 4 knobs to do the shaping... Can't wait to see what you have in store for us this time!

Since we are talking x30.. anybody care to share their favorite settings?
input- 2 o'clock
drive- 2 o'clock
bass- 2 o'clock
lo-mid- 12 o'clock
hi-mid- 1 o'clock
treble- 1 o'clock
contour- off
gain lo/hi- on
output- 9 o'clock
stereo- off
Trafo- on

i think tse x30 doesn't need tubescreamer

I don't use the X30 too often, but I set it the same way I do with my ENGL:

Gain: 10 o clock
Bass: 9:30
Low mid: max
Hi mid: 3 o clock
Contour: on

No poweramp/output circuitry worth modeling in the E530 ;) I will completely remodel it like I did with X50..

Wookieslayer: trafo gives subtle compression/saturation

The StabbinCabin: no problem ;)
