Tweaking snare sounds.... what do you guys think?

Hey all,


Here's a current "mix in progress." No bass guitar yet, that's on Sunday. Just guitars & drums. Hell, I haven't even started editing this one.. the tom mics aren't up... etc, etc.

In other words, it's pretty raw. However, I kinda stumbled across something today regarding the snare & I thought some feedback would be nice.
There's two versions, just let me know which one you think is best.

BTW, I'm aiming for "larger than life" on the snare, so keep that in mind.

I like CLIP A more so than CLIP B...

It sounds pretty big... without being too intrusive of the mix...

also, is that mainly just the snare mic and the guitars and some overheads?

it does sound like its a bit too loud for that particular mix...

I like clip A because the it sounds like it fits that song better, but clip B is also very good
