Is UAD worth purchasing? I have waves, urs csp, is uad going to give me that color I'm looking for...in other words is it a big step up from the plug ins I use now?

The UAD stuff is great (I have 3 cards and have bought several of the optional plugs), but if you're specifically looking for "colour" (whatever your definition of that is) you should be able to get that out of the input stage algorithms in the URS CSP plug.
The UAD plugs are very musical and easy to dial-in great sounds with, but they won't work any mix miracles. You should be able to achieve great results with Waves & URS plugs.

You know it will improve your processing power, lighter load on your CPU...I am for sure considering , they do come with some nice EQs and compressors

I haven't found anything (speaking of software) that rivals the UAD-1 1176LN, LA-2A compressors and the Pultec EQ regarding "coloring".
