Priest themselves said that they were looking to record a "good" album to let everyone know they're back and still awesome. They weren't looking to make another Sad Wings or Stained Class or anything. 
Ultimately, did "Angel of Retribution" fulfill your expectations?

It exceeded my expectations, actually. I was really prepared for the worst but the Priest delivered.
Of course it's not flawless, but I'd say it's still more focused than most Priest albums. Wheels Of Fire, Angel and Lochness are the only filler-y tracks and none of them catastrophically bad. Songs like Deal With The Devil, Revolution (yes, that's right) and Worth Fighting For are just classic.
Absolutely in my top 3 of the year.
