Ulver's "Perdition City"

oh, definitely much better. more clever usage of electronics and more vibrant music - "Themes" does get dull in places, not so in the case of "P. C."

the "Metamorphosis" EP is also very nice.

Massive Thumbs up for PC..

the only problem I have is I don't know that many other bands who do this kind of ambient soundscape thingey stuff...emm godspeedyoublackemperor..and..emmm...any others???

themes is pretty dull..."an eternity in an hour..or a double cd" :)

bambi, if you look for that kind of sonic landscape give a try to Sigur Ros - 'Ageatis Byrjum' and to Mogwai - Rock Action', very good stuff.

I can't really see the link betweenUlver and Godspeed!, but if you like Godspeed! try A Silver Mount Zion (http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/t13255/s.html) they rock muchly :)

Cheers mehdi..i have one of the sigur ros releases (called something or other about angels), not bad at all....

Sabres of paradise have an old album (sabresonic??) with a track on it called clock factory. One of the eeriest ambient toons I've ever heard. Not exactly the same bag but Alan Moores "the highbury working" is EXCELLENT, I've been trying to track down his William blake cd too..no luck.

Russell, I've seen the silver mount zion cd around looks interesting but I've gotten outta the habit of buying cds cos they look interesting...will pick it up tho'. I think ulvers last ep is kinda godspeedyblahempy

a pox on the placement of the reply and new thread buttons on this forum..I keep starting new threads when I should be replying

I like Pc and "Themes" as well! They both create a certain kind of atmosphere which is very intense. Last year during vacation in Toscana there was thunder and storm and we stood at the open window looked at the lightnings and listened to Perdition City and drank some wine. That was amazing.

I would definetly recommend it,

cheers Morpheus

bambi, you should deffinately check the 'Rock Action' album from Mogwai, it's brilliant.

sigh..very well, if you insist mehdi.i.e.e.e.ie :)

I listen to the first few trax off "anthems to the wellies at dusk" whenever we have thunderstorms....silly fun

Is this album any good, & worth buying?

yes, and "limbo center" video is also great, but you must know that it's not music, it's a kind of art. it's great for everyone who is lost in momets... your city breaks you down.

No, Themes is GENUINE, and Perdition City is great.
Themes is a book, literature art, and PC is a movie, visual art.
