Nugent replied, 'Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All
they care about is, what am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw
next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the
Democrats in Congress.'

I actually like some of his music, but I'm talking about his music from decades ago. He is extremely ignorant though and I swear he just says this stuff to piss off liberals. It's unfortunate because it has turned me more and more against his music because of some of his quotes. Let me split my answer into two parts, since your comment really touched on two different things, and obviously I am not in this thread for a full-on fire-spitting, rock-throwing argument (though I was extremely annoyed at reading that and lashed out with my original comment).

I can honestly see the fault and the wrong things within the liberal thinkers. As a matter of fact, I agree strongly with you that even though people say they (we) are supposed to be tolerant, the lashing and the verbal abuse comes out. You're absolutely right, it's almost hypocritical. That being said, think about what I said in response to Paul's post. He attacked the liberal's tolerance, yet it would be blasphemous to say the right wing (in general, though there are exceptions to every rule) is tolerant. Just ask homosexuals, women who get pregnant from a rape and have no other choice but abortion, or minorities. Isn't it hypocrisy to talk about my lack of tolerance when you're even less? If anything, the one thing I am not tolerant with is people who have zero tolerance. (lol)

As for you being a fan of Nugent, I respect that bro. If you re-read my original comment, I didn't insult his fans or people who like him. I don't like his music, never have. If you dig it, that's great. I happen to not like his personality either. His beliefs, I won't even go into. That being said, I can tell by your posts around the forum (that's about the extension of me knowing you) that you are not a racist jerk like him. I honestly wouldn't consider you to be a person as stupid as he is, because I know you're better than that. It's one thing to be part of the "right wing" (which I assume you are); it's a whole different story when you're a racist asshole (which I know you're not).

Brian, to be entirely honest with you, I had just read an interesting article about racial profiling and some comments that members of the right wing had made. I personally was extremely offended by that. Five minutes later, I come across this thread about what Nugent said. It pretty much made the glass overflow. Was I a bit too angry and too drastic? Yes. At that particular moment, it really did get under my skin and irritated me for a bit. Right this second, after having a nice day at work and coming home to a beautiful soon-to-be wife and dogs, having that glass of wine and a great dinner, what Nugent said or how he feels, our (I mean us in the forum) difference our opinions, or the importance of this argument doesn't really mean much to me.
