"In" is: EQ is inserted and engaged
"Out": EQ is inserted but switched off
"Off": EQ is not inserted at all

Off for me as well, definitely sounds tighter, but I also agree with Ermz depends on the context

In seems like it would be nice on leads and out for clean parts.

What do you think yourself? How does it sound when playing around with it in person? Sometimes with stuff like this it adds a nice little something with everything going in the mix.

I'd say take in, lower the bass, and raise the highs a tad.

It seems to add some depth to the guitars with it IN but I would cut the low end a bit.

I like the In sound but prefer it Off (sounds brighter IMO)
