Anyone going?
They are playing at Durtie Nellies @ 7PM, opening for that local band ARRA.

I am not a huge fan, but know some of their classics.
Kind of more interested given the rarity that they play the States.

I know they have a lot of proggier material that might appeal to some here.

I've like everything I've heard, but unfortunately they're a band I'm just completely unfamiliar with. So, much like the CIIC show, I will have to decline. Plus, the Devin Townsend show is the following night.

Oh wow, I had no idea they were back over here. Sadly it does not look like they're playing any East Coast dates.

This is a legendary band, and their live show is incredible. If you have the chance do not pass it by.

Uriah Heep is a great band. I would have loved to seen them. Everyone knows Easy Livin and Stealin but Look At Yourself, Traveller In Time, Sweet Loraine & July Morning are all great songs.

They plan to back in June 2011. Hopefully with immigrations and visa papers In Order this time.

BB Kings tickets are already for sale: http://www.pollstar.com/resultsArtist.aspx?ID=4551

Gotta wonder why they would come just for 3 Midwest dates, esp at this time of year. Maybe one of the venues gave them a killer offer, so they added a date or two around it? Maybe testing the waters for a full US tour in 2011?

Yeah, I heard about this show a few months back and was pissed that it is going to be the same day as I'm taking my Grandparents to see TSO in Peoria.

Ah well.
My Grams > Uriah Heep.

Still too bad though. Uriah Heep rules and I've never gotten the chance to see them.
I need to clone myself.

I saw them in Chicago a couple months ago when they played Beverly Arts Center and they were amazing! I'm planning on going to this show as well. I heard that they had some commitment to the owner of the bar (I guess they cancelled a previous gig this year) and they were finally honoring it and doing a one off show.

Another note of interest is that the current bass player Trevor Bolder played with David Bowie during the Ziggy Stardust era. He absolutely shredded on the bass when I saw them earlier this year.

Fans of the older stuff also make sure to check their latest album Wake the Sleeper - it's very very good.

One of my favorite tracks:

Anyone that has a chance to go should... A legendary act that always owns the stage. Mick Box is one of the hardest working guitarists on the planet.

Go Go Go Go!!!!!!!!!!

modernwizardry - I was wondering when you would chime in, knowing you are a local, and have a UH avatar...

I will let you know if I go. Would be cool to meet in person finally.

Aww!!! Post some pics.
Never took the grand-p's to a show, but did take them to wrestling matches a couple times when I was a lot younger.

My grandfather got all worked up and was waving his cane at all the bad guys!!!

After that, he always called Andre The Giant, "The Jolly Green Giant"

Yeah, just one of those I am more interested in checking out than anything. Pretty convenient for me being in the burbs, and only $20.

I suppose they aren't expecting a big turnout, considering they are playing before ARRA. Weird!

Just bring your grandparents to the Heep show. They'll fit right in. I think I was the only one at the MD show without an AARP card.
