Uriah Heep this Saturday in Chicago burbs...

I guess they never had an "Iron Man" or "Smoke on the Water" level of radio hit that would even make the name known to younger fans.

Bingo. "Stealin'" should have cemented their cultural equivalency with Deep Purple in the US, but one line of risque (for its day in 1974) lyrics got in the way of air play.

Magician's Birthday and Demons and Wizards are no doubt amazing but for some reason Sweet Freedom (with Stealin) is probably my favorite Heep album. It is a very complete album.

And this is the reason why your dad gave me his copy of Magician's Birthday not you lol

Steal his gibson!

Oh wow, I had no idea they were back over here. Sadly it does not look like they're playing any East Coast dates.

This is a legendary band, and their live show is incredible. If you have the chance do not pass it by.

Damn it, they NEVER play in the North East, nor in Canada...I'd love to see them at least once before they hang it up...

My first Heep show was in Copenhagen on the Abominog tour with Mercyful Fate opening... MF only had the "Nuns have no Fun" EP out and the show started with all band members coming out of caskets in a cloud of mist... EPIC....

Heep absolutely slayed as well. Made me a fan for life.

After the show King helped me find some milk :Spin:. Yes milk... I was craving milk and King took me to a small dingy night store and hooked me up.
I also wrote about the concert in my local Swedish news paper and was paid $ 20. A huge deal when you were 13....

They played NYC, Annapolis, and Sellersville (PA) last June. NYC is scheduled for June 2011, other Northeast dates probably TBA.

Sounds good! Let me know when you decide and we can meet up.

Has anyone been to the venue? Is it nice? I had never heard of it before reading about this show.

I haven't been there, but a friend of mine who lives close by, and goes there often said its a pretty cool place to see a show. I have a previous comittment in Madsion Saturday night, otherwise, I'd be there.... :(

If the do come back in June, I will definitely go!

:Smokin: Damn, that is awesome on so many levels.
My first King D live experience was the THEM tour, which was amazing.

I was at Nellies once, but it was back in 1988 for a punk show.
I know the place has been severely renovated since then.
I heard it's pretty nice in there these days.

That's quite an interesting twosome I must say.

I dig it. They mostly host cover bands and a few big names every once in a while. It's an Irish restaurant/music venue with good food and a decent beer selection. The stage area is just one big room with a bar along the back. The stage is nice though....probably 3-4 feet off the ground and lots of room for the musicians.
I haven't been there in over a year, so I can't tell you how the sound is, but I don't recall any issues.
There is also an upper balcony with another bar up top, so if you don't feel like standing amongst a bunch of people, you can head upstairs to sit down. I can't imagine this show being very packed though. There's also an enclosed patio outside for the smokers. Parking has never been an issue because they have that large parking garage for the commuters (the Metra is right outside the venue). But it's always empty and free to park after (I think) 5 or 6pm.

Ok, I called the club today, and they literally have LESS than 10 tickets available at the venue for sale.
They had about 85 yesterday.
I immediately went to my local TicketBastard and got a pair of tickets.
Supposedly less than 100 are left through TM.

I strongly advise anyone interested to get tix ASAP.

I see you got one for your imaginary freind.
