So, my Fireface arrived a few hours ago on RME, and someone from their support send me an email telling me it got there this morning. My Fireface will need a new mainboard and some offboard shit that was faulty. It will cost me $375, a bit expensive, but anyway...

Now, the great thing: it will be fixed BY TOMORROW. I am used to wait more than a week in a Brazil just to get a quote, so having a quote and having the unit fixed in one/two days is just amazing and completely opposite of the german RME tech support, where guys are rude and takes forever to receive an clear answer. I am impressed.

Must be nice. I had to send my FF800 away to a supposed "RME certified tech" in Calgary to get the mainboard replaced back in August. Ended up costing nearly $700 ($550 of that for the mainboard itself). So I was pretty choked about that. It took nearly 2 months for it to get back here, and when it did, it was missing the XLR release buttons. :yell: It took another couple weeks of bitching and complaining (and explaining what the hell they were with pictures) before they agreed to send me some new ones. The fucker tried to sell me on it by saying that "they probably just come that way". Idiot. On top of that, one of the headphone amp screws had come loose and was bouncing around inside. Luckily it hasn't seemed to have caused any damage.

edit: Point being, next time anything happens to it I'm sending it to the states.
