USB Interface

I'm looking for a USB interface with one or two mic pres, just for vocals and mic'ing guitars. What would you recommend for about £100 (approx $190)

This alesis one has the sort of spec i need, is it any good?

Can't say that it'll be anything spectacular, but maybe something like an USB M-Audio Mobile Pre....http://www.thomann.de/ie/midiman_mobil_pre_usb.htm Thomann deliver to the UK for about a tenner. That unit would have ok pre-amps, but it'd be a starting point and you could always upgrade to a dedicated pre like the M-Audio DMP3 down the line.

ah that looks like it'd do the job, i'm basically after something to go with a macbook pro so i can record vocals and mic up amps and stuff, just something that would be better than using the mac's own soundcard

M-Audio's gear is usually amongst the best in each of the various price barriers for budget and semi-pro gear. I've bought a few of their soundcards over the years and have never thought that I hadn't got what I'd paid for....good luck!
