I am thinking of trying to use my SM48 as a 2nd mike off-axis to mike my guitar cab (actually for now it is just a combo 1x12 with v30) and I am seeking for advice from you guys. I am using Audix i5 on-axis.
Has anybody tried it with good to decent results ? (hopefully).
Is SM48 really a decent copy of SM58 as Shure claims ? and are any of these two would make any good as a 2nd mike off-axis to use with a guitar cab ?
I am going to follow Andy Sneap's advice on mixing it very light in with the on-axis mike (about -20 db as Andy once indicated in an interview - but he was actually talking about 57 I guess
).
I would very much appreciate some advice on this.
