Valvestate - ny new bass amp :)

So after hearing so much about using the old valvestate amp on bass I finally borrowed one from a friend for a project that I am mixing/reamping at the moment. I was mixing one song from yesterday and while it was coming together really nice I was still dissapointed with the bass sound. And here comes the valvestate. Miced up a mesa 4x12 with a single sm57, put a maxon 820 before the amp and after some tweaking I finnaly got the sound I was after. The distortion has a really unique texture that I wasn't able to reproduce somehow with other tools.

Now it's time to convince the guy to sell me the amp

My bass rig is my Dual Recto into an Ampeg SVT 8x10. Pure filthy greatness.

I've tried my other amps as well but nor the 5150 nor the laboga gave me that sound I was looking for. gotta experiment more with them
