Ugh, I have a test tomorrow, so I think I'd better not spend tonight debating Christianity. I'll try and get back to you before long, Braighs.

Thread Conclusion: We all have our own beliefs, whether religious or not. This forum could go for thousands of pages and nothing would ever change, that's the great thing about it. Everyone here has their own opinions that wont change no matter what a christian tells them, or what an agnostic/anti-religion/etc. tells them. Lets just let this thread die here and agree that all of our opinions and beliefs work for us. I respect the views of those against christianity, those arent my views, but you can't shoot down everyone else's views just because they aren't yours. Just simply respect it and don't judge.:)

See, I don't get what the big deal is about this. I quite often debate with people while knowing that I probably won't change their mind. That doesn't mean the debates aren't enjoyable. I guess most people just aren't comfortable with having intractable arguments, or have had bad experience with them in the past. To me, it's just really interesting to see what core assumptions about the world people go off of, and how deep their conviction goes in those assumptions.

Sure, I'd like for Braighs to see my way, and I'm betting he'd like for me to see his. But just because an argument doesn't change someone's views doesn't make it a bad argument. I can still get something out of it anyway.

My response was in favor of getting back on track with the thread's main purpose. If you want to debate about things then make a thread entitled "Debating 'n What not."

Ok... so this thread has more than run it's course and I really shouldn't have let it get so off track. That's what the other non music related forums on UM are for. I'll try not let another lapse in consistency occur any time soon. My apology.
