"Popular opinion in our democracy dictates the following Torah-Biblical morality (how many of us are Judeo-Christians anyway?), which none may vote against: "Thou shalt not kill". Yet, the leaders of our democratic system routinely demand the elimination of enemies, most recently known as "Islamic terrorists". We have one standard for Judeo-Christians and another standard for those who choose otherwise."

I found the above among some Hessian Studies discussions.

He was sentenced to 21 years for murder. He got off easy by American legal system standards. He added time to his sentence because of his botched escape. I respect what he did for black metal but he is a bit of a nutter.

I think he is a great man and I agree with everything he has said/written (I've read Buruzm.org many times). I don't know about being a political prisoner though. He is still serving his time. Maybe if his actual time is expired and he is still there can we start discussing the political prisoner part.

He did Norway a a big favour by reducing the amount of retards like himself by one. However, anyone who burns down old buildings, such as churches should be beheaded with a small pair of rusty scissors.

I don't think murder is the right way to handle things regardless the reasons. I think it was great he burned down some churches.

We need more rebellion against the church. In 2006 more than every we as people don't speak up and let others fuck us and it's not fair. People just except how the world is and if we join together we can atleast show people not everyone is contempt in this shithole regardless if the impact could never really change anything in the world. Someone needs to do something about taxes also because it's ridiculous. Churches for example get excluded from Taxes and rich also raise taxes for everyone else and they will never have any problems paying them but others will. More churches should be taken down to prove a point and keep holy figures in their homes rather than taking land.

That's much easier said than done. Religion and organized worship have been around for almost as long as time itself, so trying to rid them of churches would be an incredibly difficult task. I agree with you, though, because churches have become social gathering places and put worship as a secondary feature. Churches have become all but unnecessary for fellowship with God.

As much as I hate religion and the church, I am also a fan of history, and while I feel that the burning of those old chirches was quite an effective way to make a statement, a statement I feel had validity, some excellent architecture from those times has also been lost. This is the only drawback. That and the fact that the razing of the churches also emotionaly hurt alot of otherwise good people. If you watch the section of "Metal:A Headbangers Journey" about the burnings, when they talk to a priest who used to work at one of the burned churches, it seems like he is about to cry just talking about it. That is kind of a bummer.

The fact that he is Varg Vikerness who just happens to be a great musician doesn’t make him innocent and all this shit about “Political Prisoner” is just stupid.

I don’t see how burning down old churches and murdering people in cold blood is a way of opposing to the system.
In my book he is a murderer and a blasphemer (also a damn good artist) and should be treated like a common criminal.
Besides,if he hadn’t been stupid enough to attempt an escape just to be arrested again,he would had been out by now.
