Various Artists - Endzeit Bunkertracks IV

I'm not usually a fan of massive compilations; more often than not there is no cohesion, as disparate acts fly by and - while it's good for picking up on new bands - the album doesn't stand alone as a solid release. At four discs (split into the Evil/Torture/Damage/Death Sessions traditional for EB), 68 tracks and over 300 minutes of music, this is well and firmly in the monster category. It is, however, an exception to the above rule - the mix of aggrotech and electro-industrial tracks feels coherent; there is some variation in style between the catchier, more club-orientated cuts (UberByte's 'Last Human' hasn't left my head for days) to those with a harsher edge, but the well chosen running order keeps everything fluid. Artists include Leather Strip, Psy'Aviah, Zombie Girl, Angelspit, Detroit Diesel, L'Ame Immortelle, Fractured, Diffuzion, and Komor Kommando, and a smattering of lesser known acts is also included. Thus Endzeit Bunkertracks IV is recommended - it is both a great way to find new bands, and - with most of the tracks featured unreleased or exclusive - a solid release in its own right.
