Vengeance show a stripped down approach on the album that displays their more natural talent to the world. This leaves you with a very straightforward view of the band as they drive their way through the material, but not always with the most inventive of tastes on their mind. There are enough crunches to be found here, however, with duelling guitars taking the lead role and guiding the band along quite nicely.

The band sound sort of like AC/DC in their energy department slightly more than a metal band, but this works out fairly well towards the style of music they’re playing. This shows they have a need to rock you with their approach as they go through rather up front style. The comparison to AC/DC could also reach into some traditional territory with bands like Judas Priest being brought up although they remind me far more strongly of the former band. There’s a certain pure need to rock your socks off that’s found here and although we can sense the band getting excited about their performances, there is a stale vibe that can be found as they go through the motions.

Same/Same...But Different just doesn’t have enough potency to completely capture your attention and enthrall you. This is an unfortunate circumstance as the band seem to be having a lot of fun performing the material, it just doesn’t come across as strongly as one would hope overall. Still, worth looking into if you’re a huge fan of live albums.
