vintage pickups for metal guitar !!

hello gearheads!!
as the guitar project saga continues,i've chosen the neck pup to be a dimarzio super distortion -dp100, now i've found one for sale but it's really old looks like 20 yo+ the question is- technically should it work fine? or should i get a new one??

Make sure to check that it hasn't gone microphonic (squealing non-harmonic feedback), it may need to be wax-potted, other than that Dimarzio super distortions should be pretty cool for metal, providing you have a fairly gainy amp in the first place.
