Vintech x73 or 500 series?

So I've got a bit of money saved up and I'm looking to expand my preamps. Right now I'm usually using my UAD Apollo, which I run with an Audient ASP008 for tracking drums. It's nice, but having another option for some different coloration would be nice. I'm really interested in the Vintech x73, but I think with the popularity of the 500 series preamps it might be more worthwhile to invest in a box + the 573 module, or some classic API stuff. Anyone have any experience with the x73 vs the module version?

I used both side by side a fair amount and the 573's sound really similar to the x73's. The differences were negligible IME except of course you didn't get any eq ( which is great on the rack units).
