In terms of what I have actually paid for the stuff:

£4000 on guitars
£4500 on amps
£2500 on rack units/effects
£3000 on an Imac/mbox/podxt/plugins/monitors

Probably about £15k ($25k) by the time you add cables, SM57s etc into the mix.

Pretty much $5000 which is pretty good for a 16 year old. I payed for most of it by recording and saving up since I was 13 or so, and I had a large amount of help from my parents giving me loans and stuff to help pay for it over time.

All hard earned money!!! Early on in my life I understood the functionallity of working, because I wanted this stuff, so I just started working.
I did this calculation some month ago, cause I was thinking of getting an insurence..and I got one! Cause I feel seriously fucked if something happened to anything of the gear!

According to oanda.com:

18,920 Euro = 26,271.7 US Dollar

I'm even forgetting my Apple Cinema Display + additional display, external hard disks. And the barn I've refurbished last year ( 2600 euro's ) for studio use...

I only have
Live rig: Triaxis, Peavey50/50, pod XT Pro, Behringer Ultrastack 4x12 w/ Jensens, Jackson RR3, Schecter Hellraiser, Ibanez RX, Wireless and other gadgets....Total: 6.675 $

Studio: I do not own a studio myself (i get it borrowed) so I only have at home Cubase, PC, Terratec DMX6Fire, Waves and Pod XT (not pro)... Total: 1200 $.

My home studio is a bullshit. I make some money playing live and with albums, not recording bands. So it's enough for what I need. I'm jelous though of what you've got guys!.
