The poll is anonymous.

Include all hardware (guitars, amps, mics, interfaces etc) and (legit) software (daw, plugins etc) that you use for audioproduction be it studio or live (eg. if you have 10 computers, that only makes you a geek :heh:), but excluding acoustic treatment and owned spaces (studios etc)

Round it up to the nearest 100 USD. So, if you have 99 USD worth of stuff, its worth 100 USD, but if you have 101 worth of stuff, its worth 200 USD

The exchange rate for the most common currencies here:
1000 USD = ~600 GBP (ratio 0.6)
1000 USD = ~725 EUR (ratio 0.725)
1000 USD = ~1250 AUD (ratio 1.25)

If your currency is not listed here, go to www.google.com and type "1000 USD to yourcurrency" and round it to the nearest 25 (for example swedish kronor: "1000 USD to SEK" gives you result of "7822" (rounded to 7825) and that gives you the conversion ratio of 7.825)

So if you have estimated that you have used for example 2500 euros to your gear count 2500 / 0.725 = 3500 USD

I counted that I currently have about 9200 eur / 12700 USD worth of gear:

- 1 drumset
- 2 guitars
- 1 bass
- 2 practice amps
- 7 pedals
- case full of mics (~16 mics, not 100% sure)
- 4 di boxes
- 1 reamp box
- 1 small listening mixer
- 2 headphones (1 closed, 1 open)
- 1 DAW
- 9 rackitems (delay, 2ch comp, 1 ch preamp, 8ch preamp, interface, drawer, tuner, reverb, 2ch tubecomp)
- dvd player
- bluray player
- 2 portable 19" racks
- 1 table with rackmounts (rta producer station)
- monitors
- alt. monitors ("home hifi"-system)
- subwoofer
- 37" screen (hd-ready)
- 15.1" spare-screen
- a computer
- few external HDDs and memorysticks
- ~10 xlr-cables, 2 jack-snakes (1 4ch insert, 1 8ch balanced) and helluvamany cableadapters
- 2 micstands (1 short, 1 tall)
- 2 digitalcameras and 1 hires-cameraphone (important for documentation)

+ a recordcollection worth about 15000€

Fuck, this will not be easy, though at least I have my sig to help me! :D But I would ask that people refrain from listing everything ;) However, should we calculate by the price we paid (since I bought a lot of my stuff used) or what it would command new? (assuming it can even be purchased new anymore)

Now that I've done my tally, it comes to ~$7,800 here, goddamn! (though this of course is over many years, and ~$3500 of it was gifts from my parents, namely computer, interface, monitors, and the cheaper of my two guitars)

if the amount of gear i had could be translated into dick terms it would be a severe case of micropenis.

about $1000 that was bought for audio production.
Not including my gtr or amp stuff Or computer, as none of that was bought FOR production.
anyway, about $1000. The most expensive piece is the Motu 8Pre. that accounts for $550. I dont really have much. Im upgrading the "studio" in August. Better mics, a good pre, a faderport, a di box, a uad2 card and a new comp I hope.

I'm not even counting my P.A., cases for things, misc interfaces and shit. I know its ridiculous, but my parents maybe contributed around $2000 to that total cost. The rest I busted my ass for since I was 15 because I love music and wanna have a great studio some day. I've worked at a deli since I was 16, record music and do odd jobs. I figured I'd get an early start and when I get a real job, I can save all my money considering I really have nearly everything I need (aside from a place to track drums--ironic eh, I used to have a place to do that) and a pair of GREAT monitors. I mix in phones now.
