Hey, I was thinking about visiting Europe this summer for a little while.

What is a really good place for a tourist?

what is a great place to go?

Having fun in Europe in 10 easy steps:
1) Fly to Helsinki, Finland
2) Take a bus to the railway station and jump on the train to Tampere
3) Remember to quench your thirst in the restaurant car
4) Get on bus number 30 and you'll end up in a place called Herwood
5) Buy at least one crate of number 3 beer
6) Ask someone wearing colourful coveralls where "Mikontalo" is
7) Find apartment D 285. Some time will pass at this point. You will enjoy yourself
8) Ask for someone back home to send you ticket money
9) Realize just how much more number 3 beer that money will buy
10) Goto step 5.

Hmm... I liked Paris when I visited it, so I'd suggest that, but I guess it's not for everyone (I know several people who hated Paris)

I wouldn't trust Ziller's info too much. Usually those people with colourful overalls are so eager to get that beer crate that they will manage to find some evil and twisted way to fool you giving it to them.

I'll be visiting Europe next summer for the first time ever as well, beginning my journey at Wacken Open Air 2003 - then meeting my girlfriend at her grandparents' place in Helsinki, before heading over to Stockholm & Gothenburg (sp?) in Sweden, and finishing up in England. Can't wait!

As for Ziller: Have you ever checked the PRICES for a flight from the USA to Helsinki? Oy gevalt!!!

Hire a car, and drive through Germany stopping at every bratwurst stand you see along the roadside (there's a lot around Jena, I found!).

Eat. Enjoy Repeat!

If you go to England, Amsterdam and France are a quick boat or train ride away....
