Vocal microphones for female singer - any recommendations?

Hi Guys

I wanna give a microphone as a gift for my sister. She´s doing some LIVE gigs and the question is, dynamical or condenser? Her vocal range is pretty wide, but more likely soprano tendencially.

Any recommendations?

I like the Shure Beta 57a for a warm female voice sound. You may be looking for a brighter mic though.

I always had good luck with the Beta 87 on female vocals... the standard 57/58s never really did it for me unless they were screaming/yelling

The Sennheiser Wireless G series are excellent mics...

my friend gave his wife a Neumann Kms105 and it's a beautiful mic that sounds incredible.

plus...anytime you need to record screams...just pair it with a metal pop filter and it will kick ass...better than the sm7b imho

I gave my wife a Sennheiser...865, 875, dunno what the exact model - it's the next to the most expensive one. It is just awesome and shits all over the Beta 57A for my wife's voice (her voice is very middy, and the mic, a condensor, is very smooth, so it complements her voice well). You might check it out.

I've recored both females and males with my Peluso 2247LE. And it sounds awesome on both sources.

AKG D880 worked well with one of my last band's vocalists (wide range, from low & dark to proper high Dickinson style metal vocals). It seems to be discontinued though... Can't remember if we used any other mics with her.

a bit OT, but you have been using alot of Heils lately havent you?
I'm going to assume you are liking them? would you recommend them?
