I am wanting to do some vocal recording directly into my laptop. Anybody have any ideas for hardware (other than the mics). I've got the mics just not sure what else I'm going to need to make it quality sounding. Any thoughts?

A nice pre, a nice audio interface, a nice room and a nice singer. What kind of budget are you looking at?
Somewhere less than $1000. I'm figuring something USB or Firewire....I have a Windows XP laptop and I'm not familiar with this type of hardware so I'm looking for suggestions.

Are you looking for just tracking vocals (ie 1 input), or looking for tracking with multiple mics? sorry for not really giving an answer yet, still need to work out exactly what you are after. It may be worth saving money from not buying channels you won't use, and spending it on a nicer pre, for example.
