Hi!

Im new to this part of the Ultimate Metal Forum!
If i knew THE guy behind Dokkens most awesome recordings had a forum here, id be here allot earlier! ;)

Im a huge Dokken fan, and play in a band that aims to have the same kind of true 80's sound, and we just recorded vocals to our song..

Now, what i want to know is how to get that really rich vocal reverb/delay that doesnt just smear out in the mix.
Im thinkin' of songs like "Night By Night", "Burning Like A Flame", "Unchain The Night" and "Lightnin' Strikes Again".

Id be REALLY grateful for answers!

Ok, i my self own a dusty old Lexicon LXP-5.. its hard to get workin' though! ;P
But i was wondering more of what kind of settings you should use etc.

We used a number of different units, both analogue and digital. Some of the digital units included the EMT 250 and 251, AMS RMX 16, Lexicon 224XL (I'm not sure if the Lex 480 was in production at that point but it might have been) along with EMT echo plates that most studios had back then.

I still use the 480 and the RMX 16 to this day.
