ATTENTION VOCALISTS
KRONE is still seeking vocalists for its operatic production. This is a studio work being produced in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. However, you need not be local to the area in order to be considered. KRONE is a progressive/power metal work, based upon Celto-Germanic mythology and inspired by such epics as Conan the Barbarian, the Lord of the Rings, and ancient Irish and Viking lore. The work is sung in English, German, and Gaelic. A good grasp of English is essential. Some roles also require an ability to sing in German. So, an ability to hear and sing phonetically is key.
No sight-reading is necessary. However, candidates should have a good ear and be able to sing harmonies.
In specific, we are seeking the following:
1. Male lead (tenor-baritone or baritone). Should have a powerful hard rock/metal voice. This is a heroic role, and the candidate's voice should convey this. This vocalist will sing opposite female lead on 6 tracks.
2. Male lead (baritone or bass-baritone). Should have a powerful hard rock/metal voice. This is a villainous role, and the candidate's voice should convey this. This vocalist will sing opposite the male and female leads on 2 tracks. This vocalist will also speak a narrative on 1 track.
3. Male and female supporting (soprano, alto, tenor, bass). Should have a classically-trained or otherwise appropriate voice for chorus. These are supporting voices that will sing various character roles (i.e., gods, goddesses, warriors, ghosts, etc.) on various tracks. Some male supporting vocals are sung in German.
We are considering all levels of talent and experience, both professional and amateur, for this production. This is a great opportunity for up-and-coming artists to showcase their talent. If you've got the right stuff, we want you on board!
