When Mikeal does his death voice (I guess you would call it), does he use a some kind of voice filter or does he do that himself?

i'm pretty sure shagrath uses some sort of effect ...but then again. Those aren't death vocals I guess. Mikael is bar-none the best death growler around. He relaly gets that blood curdling sound going..its awesome.

shagrath uses a lot of filters, and his band is't that band.

I see it as, if a guitarist can use a pedal well, a vocalist could use a filter well

meeeehhh...the thing about the guitar/vocalist comparison depends how insane the vocalists filter is....if it changes his voice to the point that without it you wouldn't recognize it, it's retarted and should be banned. Akerfeldt uses nothing and still sounds amazing. What a good guy haha.

i usually use a compressor, little flangher and an od pedal for my death vokills ! I get great vokills from that setup!

i play in an idustrial type band and we need thos psycho vokills. noone can do naturally the type of vokills I do!

EDIT: for clean vokillsi i use antares atr-1 and compressor and a cool reverb unit
