I think Kalmah would be right up your alley, very melodic and very good. And Bloodbath (feat. Dan Swanö from EoS).

If you don't like br00tal or technical Death metal eh...let's see, I'd recommend you to start with the whole Melodic thing perhaps. You know, "The Jester Race" by In Flames (now spelled N*Flamez, btw), Soul Demise, Centinex (a bit harder you know), later Death cause it's so damn technical and intelligent music, Bolt Thrower cause even non-Deathsters seem to like them, God Dethroned with so many hooks and various black/thrash undertones, Mercenary...And then there's bands that's not really Death metal anyway, such as Soilwork, Dissection or Carnal Forge.

its not the melody that i dont like from nile....its the voice. i like the "screaming" or however you wanna call it from aa(and dimmu) and not this growling...
