This year will also be my first Wacken festival, line-up is shapin up nicely.

Of those, I'm only really interested in Grave Digger, and perhaps Brainstorm. I'll stick with my assertion that this year's lineup is lookup like the weakest for a long time.

It's early days yet and I'm confident that the line up will shape up.

A the moment I'm only really interested in seeing:

Anthrax - I'm hoping for a retro set, please god no nu rap shite.

Brainstorm - Currently my fave band on the bill. I can't wait to see them.

Children of Bodom - Wahey! Hopefully Sinergy also will join the fest.

Grave Digger - I'm finally gonna get to see them live.

Nevermore - Nice one!

Saxon - Always do the business.

I'm hoping the other big name bands are Blind Guardian and Manowar. Also maybe Hammerfall and Helloween

I'm afraid after the rap debacle, I just don't trust Scott Ian any more. Grave Digger would be good (although hopefully we'll be seeing them at BS'04!) Nevermore were good at the Astoria, and Saxon aren't a bad live experience, but neither justify a trip to Germany. Now if Blind Guardian, Manowar, Hammerfall and Helloween (or better, Masterplan) are added to the bill. Then I'd have to start seriously thinking about it...

To date, only two lineups have been compelling ehough to convince me to go abroad. I went to Sweden for Manowar, Motorhead, Dio and Lion's Share in 1999, and in 2001 I went to Stuttgart for Gamma Ray, Primal Fear, Sonata Arctica, Freedom Call and Vanishing Point. Both were worth the trip...

Majesty are playing BYH Festival in Balingen (Sth Germany) so there is a possibility that they could do wacken too
