Warhammer 40k

I know some play the game, which is a great game, but I just picked up one of the novels (well, a trilogy collected into one volume) and i have to say it is VERY baddass. The warrhammer 40k universe is really a pretty awsome place. Just wondering if anyone else has read any of the Novelisations?

The series im reading is writen by the guy that wrote that movie AI, not that that was a phenomenal movie or anything.

I used to have the novel called "Space Marine". I traded it for a Falcon Grav Tank when I stopped playing. The book was really, really fucking good, but I've got no idea where it is now.

Damn good game though.

Sick, i think space marine is writen by the same guy, Ian Watson or somthing? It might be part of this series...

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's by Ian Watson. Definitely one of the best books I've read. Explains meticulously how the marines are trained and changed to eventually become superhuman. All the extra internal organs, the torture they put themselves through, eventually using the armour suit which is connected to their nervous system and shit. And then there's the battles... I don't remember the first one but they end up hijacking a fucking titan, and then they go into a Tyranid mothership and shit.

Ahh fuck, now I really, really want to find and read it again.

Hmmm...I think they had novels out as I was losing interest in it all. Sound quite cool though. You just know they'd kick ass!

I haven't read any novels, thought about it but never gotten around doing so. Haven't played in awhile either, my brother moved down to the basement where our table was. The table for our whole gaming group. So now we don't have anywhere to play. :d
I'm more inte Warhammer Fantasy though.

Hmmm, I read the Gaunt's Ghosts novels and they were pretty mediocre, standard "Let's write a book to sell more merchandise!" fare. But I'll give the Ian Watson stuff a try; he might be a better writer than whoever churned out the Gaunt books.
