I'm well aware of the emo bands from the 80s and they're pretty good. It's just this post-emo poppy crap that I hate and which BFMV takes a HUGE influence form.

there was no emo in the 80s. maybe like '89. there was proto-emo stuff that sounded like Fugazi, but it wasn't until the 90s that "emotional hardcore" and "aggressive hardcore" actually split into two genres.
