Over the next few weeks, I'll be posting different mixes in this thread, so I don't fill up the forum with different mixes from the same band.

SO FAR, we're completely done with drums and vocals on a few songs. I understand that that is a weird order to go in with recording, but that's how it has to be done for this album due to scheduling difficulties.

What we have on this mix is completed drums and vocals, and scratch guitars. The drums are all drums I've sampled, except the kick, which is a sample of mine mixed with KICK 10 from slate.

HOPE YOU DIG IT SO FAR! I'm excited to show you guys how this band will develop:

This is sounding pretty great to me. The guitars sound like they could use less mids and a bit more bass, but as you said, they're scratch guitars... I feel like the OHs could come down a hair or two, as well. The clean vocals sound like they could use just a tad of widening.

Thanks for listening dude!

I agree about the clean vocals needing widening. I plan on re-recording the clean vocals with a different mic. I used an SM7b on them, which I find to be more strong in the screaming aspects.

No problem, man. The SM7b is definitely strong choice for screaming. After listening again, I think that transition around 1:21/1:22 is begging for some other cool effects to go along with those vox, but that's just me. Keep up the good work.

I agree dude! haha The final week for this album will be all post production where we add all of the fun shit into it.

nice track dude
the snare sample is the one you posted while ago ?

No, it's the drummer's snare...

JeffTD brought it to my attention that I need to experiment with different drum tones, which I agree.. So, I might end up adding some samples to his kit, even though I really didn't want to, since his kit was fucking amazing.

that kick's all natural? holy shit :) the drums sound so good. i was just about to tell chase i saw this so im glad i saw u said keep it on the dl hahaha

Okay guys! Here's a new one... Here's what I have done so far:

-Guitars are reamped with mesa dual rect, mesa os cab

-I'm thinking that I'll use the drums tones that are playing, but I need to polish them up

-Vocals are tracked, except for clean vox on the chorus

NOTHING IS MIXED YET, so don't hate. I want to know what you think of the guitar tone:

Oh yeah, also, the toms are only triggered for half of the song so far.

SONG 5 with bass! Very minimal mixing done, but I think it's on the right track:

Man, I like the drums. It's going to be hard to get some good sounding stuff when it's time for me to record with Superior + samples... but I guess it's just a challenge I'll have to take on :p
