Waves: V9, NLS, 64bit, ilok dropped

NLS: Console emu by waves: SSL 4000G, Neve, EMI TG

64bit finally

no ilok in V9 anymore

It's absolutely massive that they have dropped ilok, I think with this move by waves and the plugin alliance the future of the ilok may be in jeopardy.

I'm not sure what to think about the iLok business. On one hand, it must mean they've come up with a more potent copy protection method - which is great - but there's all sorts of things that brings to question. Is it less intrusive? Is it easier to deal with? Does it mean I'll need an internet connection at all times? Installation limitations? I like the iLok because I've grown used to it; it works, and it works well. Works well against pirates, works well for their income.

Dunno about the console emulation thing though. VCC works just fine for me.

if they dont include this summing plugins into the studio classics bundle I am pissed
Assuming you mean include it for free for people who already have the Studio Classics Bundle...

I can't see why they WOULD do this, tbh. Of course, I feel your pain. I'm always pissed when I have to spend money :p

In V9 you can use any usbstick do keep your wave licenses. -> ilok style licensing.

V9 offers even more: 3 places for your license: usb stick, hard disk or cloud.
