We all knew with the gaining popularity of Macs...

EDIT: Man, flashing back to playing Sim Tower on a 3.1-equipped Swan - I've never liked any of the other "Sim" games, but Sim Tower fucking RULED

Haha, same here! Though I did like the first Sim City, too.

Oh, and I never had a virus on Windoze 3.1. Nor 3.11. Nor 95. Nor 98. No 2K. Nor XP. Any of them. There must be something wrong with my PC's!

Slightly off topic, but today one of our users Macs died on its ass, our IT exec refused to finance the repair so I took great pleasure myself in popping out a nice shiney laptop to him (he's a mac fan boy) :heh:. The look on his face, if I could have framed it, it would be on my bedroom wall. Anyone need parts for a 2.4ghz macbook pro

my first computer was an amiga 500.. fucking mint.

And i totally remember windows 3.1 and 3.11 and sim city, and running wolfenstein 3d in DOS

How much is the repair and how much would you sell the 'parts' for? :)

yeah kev well any computer can be fucked up and broken.. it only takes one idiot.... but regardless, why does everyone always try to behave as though the one computer of whichever platform they happen to not like that they've seen die is the justification and proof to the world that one platform or the other is better?? whoever said that was an issue... i've seen so many PC's shit the bed it's ridiculous... i don't make a post about it every time.

the only issue to me is ass-hats who like to insinuate that Macs are only popular because they're "trendy" and that there's nothing good about them and everyone who uses them is stupid... that's about as rational as thinking that because you've seen a mac or pc die that it's proof somehow of the superiority of the platform you happen to prefer.... fuck that idiocy, and fuck the hypocrisy of the reverse elitism of the every single mac-basher i've ever met.

this issue is so stupid and tired.... lame.. that's all i have to say to this issue... lame as fuck. why do you care what i compute with? do you care what i drive? do you feel cooler than me if you buy clothes from The Gap and i buy mine from Wal-Mart? do you think you're smarter if you buy your groceries at Whole Foods rather than Kroger? fuck the fucking fuck fuck-fuckitty fuck off, all of you PC wanker douchenutz.

oh, and guess what, i lied... Macs are better  every mac i've ever owned has outlasted, by orders of magnitude, the service life and obsolescence factor of every PC i've ever owned... Mac wins, PC loses. go die a horrible blue-screen death somewhere. i don't care if you can build and maintain one that will last longer than the average "off-the-shelf" model.... i don't have to with Macs... every mac i've ever had has lasted me and served well and without any significant failures for 5-6 years each, saving me far more money in the long run... and thus making me better than you at life.

goodnight.

p.s.... PCs sux nutz. weeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

it happened again because someone posted yet another thread meant to somehow paint macs in a bad light... you never, ever see the opposite happen. i've not created one single thread regarding PCs sucking and Macs being great... can't recall ever seeing one. it always starts with some shithead bringing up something totally insulting to the professionally working mac users here on this forum... never the other way around.

this "news" linked on this thread was old before the guy who penned the article ever thought of writing it.

How about the threads titled as "So here is the thing about VISTA", "Vista got a big thumbs down from me this weekend", "Holy fuck I hate Vista" or "Vista, I hate you." for example? And, correct me if I'm wrong, but the original poster of this thread didn't say _anything_ bashing about Macs in his starting post. As a matter of fact, the emoticon he used actually seemed to me like he wasn't happy about the news at all.

It's not that I think Mac's are inferior to PC's. The thing that really pisses me off is all these "you can't run a Windows machine without getting a shitload of viruses" and "the lifespan of a Mac is so and so much longer than a PC could have" comments. I have never managed to get any of my Windows systems infected with a virus, and I definitely haven't bought a new PC in less than 5-6 years. Sure, I've upgraded the processor etc. on some, but that's because I can do it, and because it's a dirt cheap way to get a little more kick out of an old workhorse.

This is like a room full of inbred rednecks arguing about Ford vs. Chevy.

Being from Kentucky (as are you), you know this is all too real. It destroys families, leaves kids homeless, and involves mass consumption of Coors Light and Bud.

Haha, I guess Natural Light/Ice and Keystone are more of a college kid's cheap beer, rather than a redneck's - I dunno which is worse!
