anybody know whats in this chain? maybe the new sturgis 'tact'?

haha this is kind of crazy don't you think?

Just having the Pod tone isn't going to help a whole lot if you can't eq and master like him. I'd say to just make a patch that you come up with. Make your own sound, cause i can't tell what in the heck is on that chain.

Pretty much this. I get that this is the sturgis forum, but come on...

lol i know i know, ive read about him all the time all over the place lol

what i saying is maybe for those trying to get a similiar tone, this MIGHT be the "new" starting point? also one other question, anybody know if sturgis uses cab impulses instead of the cab in pod farm?

Sturgis is a magical wizard with the pod. I have it and have not had much success with it so far lol. Def. not making any Joey Sturgis tones

well the tone by itself isnt that good, you have to have tight and high attack kick drum leading the way just ahead of the bass guitar, and then the guitar comes in and together it sounds good. if u want to experiment with it u cud try SSD samples (kick 10 / snare 12a if you are new to the whole drum samples and processing them thing) your guitar tone isnt bad its just the kick drum is weak and i cant tell if theres a bass guitar or not (zombass if you dont have a real guitar, get version 2 not 1, and DI if you want to experiment with your own tones)

As 'A new starting point' try as everyone else has suggested - corrective EQ. Run a 7 band parametric EQ after pod farm and start by cutting everything below 100Hz using an agressive HPF. Cut everything above 9.5K (give or take depending on your guitar/ pickups) with a less agressive slope. A + B your tone with a guitar sound you like and use your ears to make any correct EQ cuts.
