we have so much leftover candy

I think House of 1000 Corpses is great. I saw previews for the sequel last night, and from what I've read, it's supposed to be more brutal and a lot darker, so I'm looking forward to it a lot. I went to see "Saw" last night, and it ended up being one of the more disturbing films I can recall. The acting wasn't great in some parts, but it was pretty intense. The whole audience reaction at the end was kind of a mix of "holy shit!" and "what the fuck?!?"

As far as the new DotD, some parts sucked, but I don't think it's possible not to get at least a little satisfaction from the scene where they're shooting celebrity-lookalikes from the roof while the lounge version of "the Sickness" plays.

Why's that? I'd say it was easily my favorite moment in the movie, though the truck backing up through the zombies and completely smashing one was pretty fun too.

I have to say, if it's blunt objects you prefer, you probably should watch "Saw," as there is a particular scene right near the end in which the lid of the water tank from a toilet is used as a weapon to great effect.

any of you guys read this?

because a.) that song

b.) the first film had the SWAT guys enjoying the clean up of zombies from the mall. civilian dude got into it a little but wanted to be "one of the guys". bikers took sadistic pleasure in killing zombies and made it a game but they hate norms anyhow, it's the lifestyle.

that scene in dotd 2004 fed into the ho-hum cynical lifestyle that saturates and there seemed to be no sense of repulsion or reflection of what once was toward what lurked in the parking lot. i think dotd 79 was very poignant in that aspect, and again, this 'sadness' i felt toward that scene is really feeding into how i feel about everything as a whole. yeah i know it probably worked on a visceral level, etc etc. action/guts/fun/clever, etc.

don't believe the reviews, other than some somewhat sub-par acting in places, SAW was very well done. I went to see it with Ben and I am still tweaking about it. It totally fucked with me, like 10 times more disturbing than Seven. Keeps you guessing too, it isn't really obvious whats going on the whole time.

Wow, last night it was only 6 times more disturbing than Seven.

I would probably agree with you if I had seen the original, which I haven't. It's something I've meant to see for a long time now, but who has the time to do everything he sets his mind to anyway?

Man while DotD wasn't great I saw it with two hilarious kids and they kept me in stitches from the beginning to the end.

Man does anyone do that popcorn trick? I thought I'd ask since we were speaking of music but my friends and I often will look through all the trash receptacles and find a (hopefully) clean large popcorn, dump it out, and get a free refill. it works actually all the time.

i bought a bunch of candy and she insisted we'd need more so we got two more huge bags.
then it started raining.
luckily (?), our neighborhood is filled with sugar hungry kids who don't care about their appearance because we ended up with only a handful left.
then we watched The Blob (awesomely campy) and fell asleep in Scanners.
Will definitely try and finish Scanners and reanimator before taking them back.
