Random thoughts on Meddle: yes of course it is good, but Echoes is SO good that it always overshadows the rest of the album for me. And if I want that particular style of Floyd (the side A bits), I listen to Atom Heart Mother instead. I don't care if that doesn't make sense, it works for me!

For any new fans, listen to Dark Side of the Moon. It is the best introductory course of what they do. And yes, the Wizard of Oz trick is fucking cool. Do it!

I absolutely adore that song, beyond all hope and reason. And hey, I love Meddle, but it always sounded like a collection of songs to me, instead of a complete album concept.

I suppose the same thing could be said about The Wall and Piper at the Gates of Dawn, haha.
