In Pains is old-school death metal, though it doesn't quite sound like your typical old school death metal band. It is mostly mid paced, somewhat technical at times, and the vocals are high pitched. The band Fester (another old Norwegian dm band) might be a somewhat good comparison, though Cadaver were a bit more technical, and better in my opinion.

Fester and Cadaver are completely different... except maybe that they both have odd riffage.
