I'm not really sure exactly what genre this is in, but its melodic and its heavy, anyway it sounds great.
Ex-Mutiny Within's Chris Clancy is on lead vocals.
Super catchy stuff.

God, I can't believe I failed to check out this whole album. What the hell was wrong with me??? I just heard it all know. Album fuckin' kills. The riffs on this bad boy are just superb and the song writing is very catchy. Would've easily made my list had I not procrastinated so badly!

This came in the mail on Saturday and I've been spinning it all weekend. Great CD... good production, catchy songs, heavy, gets the blood pumping...but the one thing that really stands out is the well crafted and tastefully played guitar solos. They really jump out and complement everything about the song. My only complaint is that they are not long enough sometimes, LOL.

Azrael LenGraden mentioned this album in the Mid-Year Favorites thread, and thought I would add this detail I tracked down...

WEARING SCARS FEATURING FORMER SACRED MOTHER TONGUE AND MUTINY WITHIN MEMBERS RELEASE “STAND ALONE” MUSIC VIDEO

"...Former Mutiny Within frontman Chris Clancy and Sacred Mother Tongue guitarist Andy James recently revealed details of an exciting new project. Accompanied by Sacred Mother Tongue’s former rhythm section – drummer Lee Newell and Bassist Craig Daws - and guitarist Daniel Woodyer, Wearing Scars deliver a refreshing blast of modern rock, mixing heavy, syncopated grooves, glorious riffs, Andy’s signature shred and Chris’s angelic, soaring vocals.

Singer Chris Clancy explains: "“Stand Alone” explores that time when you have to find your feet again after being knocked down. The war within your mind as you let go of the past and dauntingly stare into an uncertain future.”

“The concept of Wearing Scars started as an idea I had on the way home from the pub one night”, explains Chris. “To have the concept evolve into a band and album is really incredible. Some of these songs were written over 4 years ago and never reached their potential until I met Andy and he helped take them out of their shell and turn them into something really special. For the first time in my career I'm doing the music I want to do, the way I want to do it.”
