I have read it in english and i love it.
If the original is english, i shall not read it in Dutch.
Dutch translations are no good for a fantasy novel about an extraordinary tapestry.
They're similar, but Dutch really doesn't lend itself to suspenseful storytelling, especially due to the fact that in Dutch, the difference between speaking language and writing language is quite large (especially since books are always written in Dutch-Dutch, so for Flemish people, it's even worse). Plus, Dutch reads pretty dorky and kills the atmosphere. In what respect? Dutch is remarkably similar to English (or vice versa), and so what exactly prevents a good translation?
