weird bug

This ugly/cool bug has been parked in the same spot on the wall outside my front door and has not moved for over two full days now (but does appear to be alive). The wingspan is a full three inches. Does anybody know what the hell it is?

one of those flew into my fucking kitchen a month ago and it was disgusting. it kept flying around and wouldn't leave and almost (maybe did) fly into me a few times and I hate bugs so I got air freshener and sprayed it until it left through the window (took like 5 minutes of spraying to get it near and out the window). fucking disgusting.

One of the varieties of Sphinx moth, perhaps a blinded or small eye. Would have to see the wings extended to get a better guess.

I don't get how people can think bugs aren't gross; their wings are flapping, they're making noises, have weird bodies, go insane, feel disgusting, infest everything, scurry around on their multiple legs etc. The only bug I think looks remotely cool is a lady bug and even those look gross up close. I'm down with cats and other animals but bugs are just revolting for some reason.

I don't mind most bugs, but cockroaches, GIANT spiders, and any kind of parasitic bugs can f' right off. Pewr moth being sprayed with air freshener

I agree. Especially about the unusually LARGE spiders. I had to kill the largest fucking spider I have seen in a long while two days ago. It almost looked like a recluse, body about the size of a quarter and legs an inch long

yeah i do sound like a girl haha but bugs are my weakness, any that come into my apartment are open season for squishing/air freshener blasting.

I don't mind the flyers as much as the crawlers...especially anything that exceeds 8 legs or looks particularly slimy.

I find most bugs fascinating until they touch me. Spiders I won't kill unless they're a threat to me. But any bug that crawls on me without my permission earns itself a hasty finger-flick.

I see a type of these jumping spiders around my house, they almost look at you with curiosity... its so awesome!

These and daddy long legs are about the only spiders I tolerate. Ticks I hate with a passion but pretty much every other bug in my area is Oooookay by me.
